It started out as a dream… A small from “scratch” bakery and sandwich shop that would provide good homemade food in a clean, friendly environment. Our doors opened in May of 2001. Before long, there was a loyal following. It has continued to grow in the last 12 years. In Nov. of 2009, we opened our second location in the little mountain community of Mariposa, CA. Then in Feb. of 2013, we opened our third location here in the El Portal Plaza in Merced, CA.

Homemade Meals Without The Work

Come in and enjoy your time with us! We offer a variety of pastries and pies to enjoy with our locally roasted freshly brewed coffee or espresso. In the morning we have a breakfast menu that includes a long time favorite ‘cinnamon swirl french toast’ from our bakery.

For lunch and afternoon, we have a variety of hot and cold sandwiches including our best seller since 2001, the chicken salad sandwich! Other popular items are the turkey avocado wrap, tri-tip sandwich (which we smoke on-site), and our burgers (made from local grass fed beef).

We also offer free WiFi, a banquet room that can be used for parties and meetings, and an outdoor patio. We look forward to serving you time and time again!

Love Jantz! Everything on there menu is so good! I ordered there Breakfast Tacos for the first time and it was amazing! It has chorizo and egg with avocado on top and the seasoning is on point! Definitely recommend trying the Breakfast tacos And I also ordered the Belgium Waffles So delicious!

Stopped off the freeway for lunch after hours on the road. It was easy to find and easy to get back on the road when we were done. Everything from the decor and cleanliness, to the sweet welcome from the Hostess, to the beautiful pastries in the case, to the delicious food and prompt, friendly service was perfect. I especially appreciated all the gluten free options and I really liked my tuna melt on GF bread. I will remember this place and will go out of my way to visit again when I'm in the area!
